I think we can all agree that tattoos are a great medium for self-expression. The style, theme, and symbolism of your tattoo(s) can say a lot about who you are and what you believe in. Tattoos can be pretty much anything you want them to be, from silly and fun to dark and serious. They can impact not just you as the wearer but also anyone you come into contact with. If you’re thinking of getting a tattoo, what kind of impression would you want it to leave on others? This is important to take into consideration, especially if your tattoo is going to be large or otherwise highly visible.
In general, we all tend to gravitate towards positive people. It’s just human nature to want to be around people who motivate, inspire, and uplift those around them. That being said, it’s not always easy or natural to act like a shining ray of light. If you want to inspire positivity in others, or just be more positive in general, choose a tattoo design that works to your advantage. Semi-permanent tattoos can work just as well, if not better, because you can tailor them to different events or situations.
We all express positivity in different ways--three ways that work particularly well for tattoos are words of affirmation, light, and hearts. Below are some examples from our catalog of how these three themes can translate beautifully to a temporary tattoo design.
Words of affirmation
What better way to lift someone up than through affirmative words? Language is extremely powerful, and tattooed words are no exception. Keep it short and sweet with a few choice words or a simple phrase.

Light
Light, as opposed to darkness, is typically associated with positivity. The sun in particular, as the source of all life, is often symbolic of happiness. Light also symbolizes ideas and productivity, and can thus help inspire you and your peers.

Hearts
The heart is a universal symbol of love and compassion. By getting a tattoo, you can literally “wear your heart on your sleeve.” In general, people respond well to those who exhibit a kind and loving nature.
