Hobbies--we all have them. Some of us have many, most have one that stands out from the rest. If you’re lucky, your favorite hobby is also your career. But for many, hobbies are a way of escaping from the daily grind and all the stress that comes along with it. Whether you’re working full-time, raising children, or still in school, we all need some means of pursuing our passions. Hobbies don’t have to be expensive or excessively time-consuming--they can be a simple as reading a good book or writing a few lines of poetry each night. As a child, you may have played sports or video games, or maybe you took dance and music lessons. If you were passionate about any of these activities, you’re probably still doing them today, either professionally or as a hobby.
If you don’t have a hobby, consider finding one. It may just provide you with an outlet for creativity and energy that you never knew you needed. It can also be a great way to connect with others and form a community. If you already have a hobby you’re passionate about, why not get a tattoo? A tattoo can help keep your hobby, literally, close to heart throughout the day, no matter what you’re doing. It can also be a great conversation starter. If you don’t want that level of commitment right now, a temporary tattoo works just as well. Semi-permanent tattoos also have the added bonus of allowing you to switch up your designs for different events you might attend. For instance, you could wear a book tattoo to your monthly book club meeting, and a musical tattoo to a concert.
Below are 15 tattoos inspired by popular hobbies, ranging from creative pursuits like knitting to athletic activities like volleyball. We’ve also included designs from our own temp tattoo collection that feature biking, scuba diving, and photography. If you have a hobby you love, a tattoo is a creative and fun way to showcase it.
